Experienced CNC Machinist Setup/Operator Wanted

 

Hagel Machine has become very busy since moving to St Michael and we are looking for an EXPERIENCED Milling/Lathe Machinist.

 

We are seeking an experienced CNC Set-Up/Operator who will set-up, edit programs and operate CNC Mills and Lathes. Programming experience is a plus!

 

This position sets up new and repeat jobs, assists operators on how to run parts correctly, troubleshoots and edits programs as necessary, completes required minimal paperwork, communicates with co-workers regarding production of parts, maintains quality and safety standards. Works as a team member. 

 

This position has no supervisory responsibility. Goal is to promote to Shop Foreman in the future as we continue to grow.

 

Our current hours are 7:00am to 3:30pm Monday thru Friday, although we can be flexible with the hours.

 

We opened our doors in 2016 in a 1200 sq ft space in East Bethel, MN with 3 CNC machines.

In 2020 we moved to a 2500 sq ft space in St Michael and bought a Doosan CNC Mill.

In 2022, we expanded adding 1800 sq ft space and purchased a Hyundai Kia SKT250 CNC Lathe with live tooling and a Hyudai Kia SKT1L CNC Lathe.

We currently have:

(1) Doosan DNM4500 VMC

(1) EXCEL 810 VMC

(1) Kitamura MyCenter 2 VMC

(1) Daewoo Puma 8HC CNC Lathe with 8" Samchully Chuck

(1) Doosan Lynx 220C CNC Lathe with 8" Samchully Chuck

(1) Hyundai Kia SKT250 CNC Lathe with Live Tooling

(1) Hyundai Kia SKT1L CNC Lathe with 8" Samchully Chuck.

All machines have FANUC controls.

We run a variety of parts made of plastic (acetal, nylon, teflon, etc) steel, stainless steel, aluminum and tool steel. We do not run any tiny microscopic parts and don't normally run any huge heavy parts, maybe once a year, we run 35 pound parts for a customer in need.

 

Job Responsibilities

- Print interpretation and understanding of measurement and part tolerances is required. GDT knowledge is a plus!

- Load program into machine. Program/edit by hand at the control. Programming experience is a plus!

- Prepare vices and other work holding tools.

- Set up machines with correct tools and fixtures. Prepare, load and touch off tools.

- Locate and verify proper raw material.

-Follow, create, and help maintain work instructions, complete required daily paperwork.

-Identify opportunities to reduce machining time through process and program improvements.

- Run parts, perform offsets and troubleshoot.

- Perform in-process inspections of the parts being run. Monitor part quality; both measurable and appearance.

-Inspect part using tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, go-no go gauges, comparator, CMM and other inspection equipment.

- Perform each job with a high level of quality while continually working to improve efficiency.

- Problem solve and come up with solutions on your own.

- Keep and maintain equipment and a clean/safe working area. We strive to keep a clean shop.

- Monitor and fill machine coolant, way lube. Monitor and empty chip bins

 

- Team player.

- Take and give advice. Have an open mind.

- Good communication skills.

- Good attendance.

- Most importantly have a good attitude and the drive to succeed. Be self-motivated.
